Known for its sparkling longlists, the prize brings international attention to both the authors’ and translators’ work. Author, Banu Mushtaq and translator, Deepa Bhasthi, won the International Booker Prize 2025 for Heart Lamp: a short story collection which explores the everyday lives of women and girls in Muslim communities in southern India.
